New Inspired Thoughts...

Again, I have to share some of the insights from work...today has been quite the eventful day here at the Psychiatric hospital...
Event 1:
Patient A refused to have his blood drawn this morning because, "Blood means the Devil, and I am only a scientific man and don't want to be poked. I know you can get results from my blood using special laser beams...and wait- do you see that light? (pointing to the night light near the floor...) That is of the devil too...it's the devil's light. It's a sign. You can't draw my blood now. It's impossible."
OoohK.
Event 2:
Patient B believes, honestly believes that if I draw blood, I MUST be a vampire. She kept asking the time to make sure that it wasn't getting to sunrise time because then I would honest to goodness die- that was so nice of her to be concerned...but seriously- she was freaking out because it was getting close to 7am- "You better be careful and hurry and get to your cave...the sun will be out any time!"
I'm pretty lucky. It's overcast with a high chance of snow.
My favorite-
Event 3:
Patient C-
(Insight- the children over here are soooo sweet and adorable, but they all freak out when they see me coming down the hall with my cart of "vampire" supplies.) This morning, Patient C, walking hand in hand with one of the techs came up to me and tugged on my shirt- "Poking Blood Girl- you aren't here for me...are you?" (The terrified look in his eye melted me...I wanted to cry with him.) "Nope buddy- not today..." The look on his face was priceless- RELIEF!
I Love My Job. I love my Patients (Patience). :)
